November Writing Month Pledge

Usually every November I write a novel or something else ridiculous. I have a lot of fiction and non-fiction I've written and not much of an audience to gather feedback, I feel like my life experiences have given me an incredibly unique insight onto the world but how publicly digestible these insights I've had remains to be seen.

Starting this blog was inspired off a friend who also started a blog this month and decided to write every day for November. I thought I'd do the same and make it my goal to write at least one blog post every day for the month of November come hell or high water. We'll see how well I actually commit to this promise to myself.

A little bit about me for an introductory post: I grew up in LA under interesting circumstances and moved to Berkeley in 2015 to pursue degrees in Physics and Astrophysics which I succeeded in getting in 2019. After some time in the East Bay I relocated to San Francisco where I eventually moved into an artist collective that used to be an old convent for nuns. Get thee to a nunnery indeed!

I play violin as well as a plethora of other instruments, write short fiction and some sci-fi, play EVE Online, World of Warcraft, final fantasy 14 and civ 6 amongst other games and currently dabble in collage artwork as well. I don't know where I'm going with my life, I work in blockchain tech right now doing cryptography but that's mostly only because its just the work that comes to me not the work I really want to be doing.

We'll see what this blog evolves into during this month of writing in it. I'm curious to see what strange directions it goes in

(Speaking of strange the title of the blog is called strange attractor, which comes from the field of chaos theory) The term "Strange Attractor" is used to describe an attractor (a region or shape to which points are 'pulled' as the result of a certain process) that displays sensitive dependence on initial conditions (that is, points which are initially close on the attractor become exponentially separated with time). The most famous strange attractor is undoubtedly the Lorenz attractor, a three dimensional object whose body plan resembles a butterfly or a mask. The Lorenz attractor, named for its discoverer Edward N. Lorenz, arose from a mathematical model of the atmosphere

I feel like a being of pure chaos sometimes, or maybe something that attracts a lot of chaos into my interactions. It was certainly one of my favorite subjects to study in physics. I hope you enjoy the blog, and I hope I enjoy writing it.
